What is FLL?

Introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FIRST LEGO League teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.

Elementary and middle-school students get to:

FLL Core Values

The FLL Core Values are the cornerstones of the FLL program. They are among the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of its kind. By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.

  • We are a team.
  • We do the work to find solutions with guidance from our coaches and mentors
  • We know our coaches and mentors don't have all the answers; we learn together
  • We honor the spirit of friendly competition.
  • What we discover is more important than what we win
  • We share our experiences with others.
  • We display Gracious Professionalism® and Cooperation® in everything we do.
  • We have FUN!

FLL Mentoring

For the past months, we have all been going in small groups to multiple elementary schools in our area to help out with FLL in as many ways possible. These schools include Nesbit Elementary, Rockbridge Elementary, Graves Elementary, and Ferguson Elementary. We organized numerous events for FLL during the school year and summer, including boot camps, competitions, and fundraisers. Our students are actively engaged in the mentorship of kids in the surrounding cluster
